Morel Mushroom!

I've been spending time learning about mushrooms. This is my first morel finding.

Lower McCloud Falls, McCloud, Ca.

Lower, Middle and Upper McCloud Falls are flowing and lush with the vegetation surrounding them. Fishing is very popular!

East Side of Mt. Shasta, Mud Creek

This photo was taken from the McCloud side of Mt. Shasta. The large canyon visible on the mountain is Mud Creek Canyon, which has experienced major mudflows in the past and continues to do so today. These powerful events can be triggered by heavy rainfall or periods of triple-digit temperatures that rapidly melt the glaciers and snowfields high on the mountain. It's a fascinating reminder that Mt. Shasta is constantly being shaped by the forces of nature.
